PSALM 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

hey guys! exam starts in 2 weeks for most of you! i hope you’re not going crazy and pulling your hair out by now. its gonna seem like there is not enough time in a day to complete the million things you have to do. (maybe it already is!) although it seems that way do take sabbath breaks(rmb calvin’s sermon?) and take all the little time you have, like on bus rides, walking home, to the toilet to pray and complain and pour out your stresses to God. He’s a loving Father who listens and cares about what you are going through. Do spend time reading His word although you are so busy! it only takes 10 minutes to do S.O.A.P. God is always faithful and will carry you through okay!:) Love you guys very much!! Mel

hey guys! O/N levels are just round the corner and just wanna encourage you to press on and study hard! and do set aside time for God and to seek Him. God says that wen you draw near to Him, He’d draw near to you too! so don’t be discouraged when you don’t hear him or feel him, be patient and press in, be desperate! like the song we sang today, deeper, make that your desire.

We’ve been learning about fellowship the past 2 weeks, that we should bear one another’s burdens (not literally). so do remember to keep the people in cell covered in prayer and ask them how they doing okay! lets make this the culture of our cell, our ministry. I desire to see the kind of fellowship that was present in the book of Acts in our ministry.
You guys are the bestest! don’t grow fat eating all the stuff i baked! make sure you exercise! it releases endorphins that make you Happy!:D:D take care!!! love you to bits!

Meditate, Memorise,Study,Read, Hear

How has studies been so far O’levellers? Been busy eh? Been meditating upon what kind of expression to use in your lit essays… memorising your social studies book….studying organic chemistry…reading your english notes and hearing what kind of potential questions might come out for prelims/O’levels?

my guess is… yes, you have been ( cos if you haven’t you ought to get started!). well, if you’re one of those are furiously mugging right now, my question to you is… WHAT DRIVES YOU? is it doing well enough to beat that person beside you in class? to ensure you don’t get a lousy footing in choosing you future institution? or is it because you wanna beat your cell leader and score more than her at all cost? well what ever your drive is, i believe that there ultimately is one, and you are driven to a certain extent because of that push.

Well how about when it comes to your relationship with God? What drives you to want more of him? IS THERE A DRIVE IN THE FIRST PLACE? I’m 100% sure when someone asks you whether God should be first in your life- above all other priorities-, your answer would be yes. then you typically…in one secluded corner of y0ur mind ask youself in the most guilty concious way ‘ REALLY??? God’s first priority in my life? i really put him first? …hmm really???’ (then all of a sudden guilt overwhelms you the way it did when you sat for a test w/o studying at all..) but rest assured> God’s not a performance based God and he sees the heart above all. he sees the desire, the desire to grow closer. ( gosh it’s late and im short of time!!!). he won’t judge you if u miss quiet time for 1 day, 1 week or even a year. but he sees your desire, whether you want to or not…

so here’s the gist! desire for the desire to be driven by God. and slowly but surely, through your dependence on him your drive in life would be one that is so much stronger then you own.

have you ever seen Jacob look at you with the longing eyes for food? he’s the cutest thing EVER! i love Jacob!:)

was baking today and Jacob loved the oatmeal cookies! grandma fed him and he just wanted more!

and i so didnt want to give it to him coz its not good right! his waist is so big already and he doesnt like to exercise! but he never gives up waiting. even if i go in the house then i peep at him, he still waits expectantly…. for a while la. not forever. hahah and the thing is. jacob waits for whoever has food! hahaha it doesnt matter if its my dad who scolds him and bullies him, as long as he has food, he looks at you with his amazingly cute eyes.

then it reminded me of how God waits for us with, in calvin’s words, ‘foolish love’. even though we may ignore Him, and know that he ALWAYS waits for us. so we choose to come back to Him whenever we want. NOT comparing God to a dog/Jacob. but it just reminded me of the amazing love that WAITS. It is quite a bad analogy, but the point is this amazing love is also ‘foolish’ in some sense coz it waits whether it gets anything in return or not. and it doesnt matter who it is, as long as you have ‘food’ in this case a soul, you get the love.

i hope what i did will motivate you! but please don’t show people of authority like your school principal or teacher who is…. very law abiding… just in case they don’t see the lighter side of it…. hahah

and….. a few new people are joing our cell. the sec 3′s. for now its just nicolette and abigail. so do welcome them… send them an sms or sth during the week. other people like denali, sam foo, russell yap.
